First semester - GCM 110 course - Introduction to Graphic Communications - Final project

This important first-semester course gives students an introduction to the field of graphic communications. They learn about the history of graphic communications, different print technologies including digital print technologies. The final project of this course gives the students the opportunity to explore many different aspects of graphic communications using their creative talents.

Please explore the exceptional work done by students that went beyond what was discussed in class. Students demonstrated their unique talents using different media. Their work can be part of their future portfolio. Please take some time to enjoy the work of the students.

RyeTAGA student chapter

There is a student chapter of the Technical Association of the Graphic Arts (TAGA) at the School of Graphic Communications Management. This student chapter produces a journal with student research papers. This journal is entered into the annual student competition for the Kipphan Cup. The Kipphan cup is awarded to the student chapter that achieves the highest score in areas like design, production, technical writing and overall presentation. This year this journal is produced in an e-version. Check out the link for more details.

GCM Colloquium 2021

The GCM Colloquium team at Ryerson University’s School of Graphic Communications Management (GCM) had their annual academic conference on March 11th and March 12th, 2021.

Colloquium is an academic and professional networking conference organized by GCM students with the help of faculty advisors. It brings together students and industry professionals in the Graphic Arts to connect and discuss trending topics.

This year’s theme was Sustainability in the Graphic Arts, which explored both the creative and operational issues surrounding sustainability. The event included a panel, keynote speakers, and networking opportunities.
