Exhibition Space, Conference Area and Networking Plaza: the three pillars of virtual.drupa gain momentum

20-23 April is fast approaching with virtual.drupa: exhibitors are designing their online showrooms, video contributions, live lectures and virtual meeting rooms are being prepared. Exhibitors have been able to register since the end of January - and the booking status is positive: around 100 exhibitors from 23 countries and 5,000 pre-registered visitors from all over the world are already preparing for the virtual industry gathering.

The performance spectrum of virtual.drupa
From now on, the Exhibition Space of virtual.drupa will provide a continuous overview of the registered exhibitors at virtual.drupa. The current status already lists numerous national and international key players such as Bobst, Esko, Kama, Konica Minolta, Kyocera, Muller Martini and Windmöller & Hölscher, as well as Leonhard Kurz as Platinum Event Partner and DuPont de Nemours as Gold Event Partner. Each of the exhibiting companies will enhance its digital presence at virtual.drupa in its individual online showroom, which will focus on its core competencies, technology and product highlights, and innovations. These will also be staged and presented by experts in Live Web Sessions. Visitors from all over the world will have the opportunity to ask questions and get to know products and services in direct interaction.

For individual contact, virtual meeting rooms are also available in the Networking Plaza, where up to four participants can exchange ideas in more intensive personal discussions. In particular, the generation of new leads is supported by the customisable matchmaking: As early as mid-March, visitors will be able to contact exhibitors specifically via a keyword search using a chat function and make appointments - unlimited and 24/7 during the four-day runtime and beyond - because the chat function will remain open until the end of October 2021. An intelligent algorithm that learns from personal interests and successful matches will assist with contact searches and make suggestions to connect with relevant companies and contacts.

The Conference Area will offer exhibitors and visitors an additional 2,160 minutes of top-class programming geared to global trends and relevant industry topics. International industry experts, brand owners and speakers from vertical markets will appear in two continuous live streams and provide valuable knowledge transfer with best cases, keynote speeches and insights. Key notes from international world best-selling authors and consultants such as Michael Gale and the British star designer James Sommerville, who played a major role in shaping the iconic Coca Cola brand, will kick off the Conference Area with inspiring presentations. This will be followed by presentations at the five drupa special forums "drupa cube", "touchpoint packaging", "touchpoint textile", "drupa next age" and "3D fab+print". The four trend themes Artificial Intelligence, Circular Economy, Connected Consumer and Platform Economy, which will continue to have a decisive influence on the industry, offer orientation to the participants as theme days. In this way, they can plan their personal agenda early on in March, as the range of inspiring topics is wide. Similar to a face-to-face event, visitors can flexibly immerse themselves in the virtual special shows and then move to the exhibitor showroom for the next Live Web Session.

Exhibitors focus on awareness
Last week, exhibitor Leonhard Kurz registered as an exclusive Platinum Event Partner for the virtual event. In doing so, he is making a clear statement for an intensive industry exchange at virtual.drupa. "drupa has been the flagship trade fair for the graphic arts industry since 1954. With our participation in virtual drupa 2021, we are making use of its charisma. We are pleased to use this platform to bridge the too-long gap between the last real drupa and the next one. Kurz has big news to report that is relevant to the industry right now. At the same time, the international nature of drupa enables us to present our innovations to companies on all continents worldwide. Visitors to the virtual drupa will find, among other things, real, implementable solutions for the circular economy and PET recycling at Kurz. We will also be presenting groundbreaking developments in digital embellishment. We will be showing a machine from the Kurz Group that revolutionizes digital embellishment with high-end functions that are very easy to access," says Walter Kurz, CEO of Leonhard Kurz Stiftung & Co. KG.

"In times when face-to-face events (which we all miss, of course) are not possible, we are very happy that virtual.drupa has been created as a virtual platform for interaction," confirms Joerg Hartmann, President and Managing Director of Konica Minolta Business Solutions Germany and Austria. "This format offers manufacturers, suppliers and interested parties the opportunity to exchange ideas and shape the future of print together."

And Hermann Veismann, Head of the Printing Division at Windmöller & Hölscher, also sees the virtual industry meeting as an offer that exhibitors and visitors must not miss: "drupa is and remains the international meeting place for the industry! This is where guests, exhibitors and innovations from all over the world come together - also digitally. At virtual.drupa, W&H will be showcasing news on the key topics of 'Efficient Production, Sustainable Products and Packaging 4.0'. In addition to W&H's CI flexographic and gravure presses, visitors will learn more about the latest assistance and automation systems. We look forward to a lively exchange."

François Martin, Head of Marketing and Communication of the Bobst Group, gives an outlook on innovative applications in packaging production and design: "BOBST's goal is to demonstrate its vision for packaging applications and to present solutions for the industries we serve. We believe that the future of packaging production will be based on four important pillars: Connectivity, Digitalization, Automation and Sustainability. Our presentations and the offering of our virtual showroom will make it very clear to visitors what development and vision we are pursuing. The virtual.drupa offers all exhibitors the opportunity to share their visions with the industry in equal measure and to present important innovations in the form that will help print service providers and converters to target the needs and wishes of customers and brand owners."

Visitors can already register for virtual.drupa free of charge at https://virtual.drupa.de/ and get an initial overview of the exhibitors' product ranges. This will give them the opportunity to make their participation in the virtual event as efficient as possible and to focus on their individual interests.

Exhibition Space, Conference Area and Networking Plaza: The three pillars of virtual.drupa are gaining momentum

As virtual.drupa, taking place from 20 to 23 April, is approaching, exhibitors are starting to design their online showrooms; video and live presentations as well as virtual meeting rooms are in preparation. Registration for exhibitors has been open since the end of January, and the current booking status is very positive, with around 100 exhibitors from 23 countries, as well as 5,000 pre-registered visitors from all around the world already preparing for the virtual industry event.

What virtual.drupa has to offer
The Exhibition Space section is now continually providing an overview of registered exhibitors of virtual.drupa. A number of national and international key players, including Bobst, Esko, Kama, Konica Minolta, Kyocera, Müller Martini, Windmöller & Hölscher, as well as Platinum Event Partner Leonhard Kurz and Gold Event Partner DuPont de Nemours, have already confirmed their involvement. Exhibitors will be able to enhance their digital presence at virtual.drupa in their own online showroom, where they will showcase their core competencies, technologies and products, as well as innovations. In addition, experts will stage and present them in live web sessions, offering visitors from around the world the opportunity to interact directly, ask questions and learn more about their products and services.

For a more individual approach, virtual meeting rooms will be available at the Networking Plaza, where up to four participants will be able to have a more in-depth, personal exchange. Lead generation in particular will be promoted through customisable matchmaking: from mid-March, visitors will be able to conduct a targeted keyword search in order to contact exhibitors and make appointments 24/7 throughout the four-day event and beyond, as the matchmaking function will remain in place until the end of October 2021. An intelligent algorithm will learn from individual searches and hits, supporting contact searches and offering suggestions for connecting with relevant companies and contacts.

The Conference Area offers exhibitors and visitors an additional high-quality, 2,160-minute programme based on global trends and pertinent industry topics. International industry experts, brand owners and speakers from vertical markets will deliver presentations in two continuous live streams, providing valuable knowledge transfer using case studies, keynote speeches and insights. Global best-selling author and consultant Michael Gale and British designer James Sommerville, who has substantially influenced the iconic Coca-Cola brand, will launch each Conference day with inspirational keynote speeches. These will be followed by presentations of the five drupa special forums: “drupa cube”, “touchpoint packaging”, “touchpoint textile”, “drupa next age” and “3D fab+print”. The four hot topics of Artificial Intelligence, Circular Economy, Connected Consumer and Platform Economy, which will continue to have a decisive impact on the industry, will serve to guide participants through the four-day event. Since there is such a broad range of inspirational topics on offer, visitors will be able to plan their personal agenda early, from mid-March. Just as they would at a face-to-face event, visitors will have the flexibility to dip in and out of the virtual special shows and then attend Live Web Sessions in the exhibitor showrooms.

Exhibitors put emphasis on awareness
Last week, exhibitor Leonhard Kurz has registered as exclusive Platinum Event Partner for the virtual event, sending a clear message for an in-depth industry dialogue at virtual.drupa. “drupa has been the flagship trade show for the graphic arts industry since 1954. With our participation in the virtual.drupa 2021, we are profiting from its charisma. We are pleased to use this platform to bridge the too-long gap between the last real drupa and the next one. Kurz has big news to report that is relevant to the industry right now. At the same time, the international nature of drupa allows us to present our innovations to companies on all continents worldwide. Visitors to the virtual.drupa will find, among other things, real, implementable solutions for Circular Economy and PET recycling at Kurz. In addition, we will present groundbreaking developments in Digital Embellishment. We will be showing a machine from the Kurz Group that revolutionizes digital embellishment with high-end functions that are very easy to call up," explains Walter Kurz, CEO of Leonhard Kurz Stiftung & Co. KG

Joerg Hartmann, President and Managing Director at Konica Minolta Business Solutions Germany and Austria, agrees: “In times when face-to-face events (which we all miss) are not possible, we are very pleased that a virtual platform has been created. These formats offer manufacturers, suppliers, producers and interested parties the opportunity to exchange ideas and shape the future of print together.”

Hermann Veismann, Head of the Printing Division at Windmöller & Hölscher also sees this virtual industry meeting as an unmissable opportunity for visitors and exhibitors: “drupa was, and remains, the industry’s international meeting point. It brings people, exhibitors and innovations from all over the world together – even digitally. W&H will be presenting innovations focused around ‘efficient production, sustainable products and Packaging 4.0’ at virtual.drupa. In addition to W&H CI flexo and gravure printing presses, visitors will be able to learn more about the latest automation and assistance systems. We are looking forward to having a lively exchange.”

François Martin, Head of Marketing and Communication at Bobst Group, provides an outlook of innovative applications in packaging production and design: “BOBST intents to share its vision for the packaging world and to present solutions across the industries we serve. We believe that the future of packaging production will be based on 4 key pillars: connectivity, digitalization, automation and sustainability. During the conferences we will hold, and by visiting our virtual booth, visitors will be able to understand where we want to go with them. virtual.drupa provides an opportunity for all traditional exhibitors to share their vision for the industry and to outline major innovations that support printers and converters to meet the needs and demands of their customers in a targeted manner.”

Visitors can already register for free at https://virtual.drupa.com/ and get an initial overview of the exhibitors’ product offer. This will enable them to plan their participation in the virtual event as efficiently as possible, focusing on their individual interest.

Successful finale of drupa preview

The last edition of drupa preview once again came up trumps with an exciting conference programme and intensive knowledge transfer in the print & packaging community. More than 5,300 visitors once again took advantage of the platform's offerings, confirming the current relevance of the content before everyone's attention now turns to the four-day industry event virtual.drupa in April.

"The four editions of drupa preview days have enabled continuous exchange with the industry on a global level since October 2020. The success is also documented in KPIs - key figures and analyses on international reach, access by existing and new users, and the significant increase in page views," sums up Sabine Geldermann, Director Print Technologies at Messe Düsseldorf. "These developments make us optimistic with regard to virtual.drupa; because the PR and marketing measures already launched internationally will be additionally strengthened by the promotion of the event by our exhibitors, who will activate their target groups and set positive impulses."

Thanks to the virtual format and the possibility of accessing content 24/7 in the wake of the live presentations, interested parties worldwide were able to participate in the drupa preview days held to date - and are now also automatically registered for the upcoming virtual.drupa, as all registrations remain valid for this.

The international share of the fourth drupa preview day was 81% . The top 10 countries included drupa's core target markets: Germany, India, USA, UK, Belgium, Italy, Brazil, Turkey, Switzerland and the Netherlands. The interest of new users in the format was also remarkable. Overall, drupa preview achieved around 77% new registrations. This shows that the virtual offer opens up new target groups and market potential for exhibitors. The number of around 15,400 page impressions in the fourth edition also shows that all visitors have an in-depth interest in the topics of the industry and exhibitors and consider them essential in these times. In this respect, the extensive offerings of the Conference Area and Exhibition Space at virtual.drupa lead us to expect a far-reaching, positive response in the market.
